King’s InterHigh, wins award for ‘Educational Establishment of the Year’
InterHigh, part of the Wey Education Group, providing live, interactive and online teaching in the UK, has been presented with the ‘Educational Establishment of the Year’ award at the annual Education Resources Awards.
Established in 2005, InterHigh is an online school supporting learners from primary school through to sixth form college, offering everything you’d expect from a traditional school with the bonus of a specialised learning platform, bringing schooling to students in a way that suits them. InterHigh offers a full British curriculum, and as pupils move through the school, they can study a wide range of IGCSE, AS and A Level courses.
Lessons are streamed and delivered in live, interactive classrooms by highly qualified teachers and students have access to digital lesson recordings, interactive activities and the full course resources.
The service was praised by the judges for its innovative, flexible nature and outstanding impact on children’s learning – with students commenting that InterHigh is ‘quite possibly the best experience I could’ve asked for in high school’ and ‘the best solution I wanted, it pushed me to my limits to help untap the potential which a conventional school could not do’. The online school also plays host to a virtual common room, secure social media platform, career advice and guidance as well as social events throughout the year.
Commenting on this award, the judges commended InterHigh, stating:
“The ERA judges were all very impressed with Wey Education and InterHigh’s specialised learning platform, creating a study place for learners from primary schools right up to sixth form college by streaming lessons live via interactive classrooms.
“The judges particularly liked this way of educating students, in such a modern fashion that not only allows students to study a wide range of courses but suits them and is available outside the normal lesson time.”
Jacqueline Daniell, CEO of Wey Education, said:
“Of course, we are delighted to receive this award. InterHigh School has attracted some of the best teachers from around the world who are able to deliver highly interactive, engaging and creative content. We know this success wouldn’t be possible without the talented and inspiring Wey Education community – faculty, staff, parents and most importantly the pupils.”
The Education Resource Awards play a key role in identifying and rewarding excellence in education trade. The winning organisations were announced at the Education Resources Awards via a virtual ceremony on YouTube on Friday 27 March.
