Learners will sit a baseline assessment that currently takes place twice a year (October and March), along with short, informal assessments such as quizzes each week. At the end of each topic, teachers set a longer assessment (such as a written assignment) to test understanding in-depth.

This programme of assessment is designed to track students’ progress efficiently and make sure learners are sufficiently supported or challenged without causing academic stress. If teachers spot that a student is falling behind or exceeding expectations, they can adjust that students content appropriately.
