Keanu Machado
With plans to travel abroad with his family, Keanu needed a flexible style of learning and a better education – which is where King's InterHigh came in.
"Everyone is so helpful at King's InterHigh and the teachers are great. None of my lesson time was lost from disruptive students, which means school time is much more efficient and you can learn the same amount in a shorter time."
Can you tell us about your education experiences before King's InterHigh?
Before King’s InterHigh, I was going to a physical bricks and mortar state school in Surrey, England. It was an average experience, but the constant changeover of staff and teachers wasn’t helpful, and many teachers could not control the class easily. This meant a lot of time was wasted.
Why did you decide to join King's InterHigh?
Me and my family were planning to travel abroad to the Algarve in Portugal for a while, one of the main reasons being to help my grandma who wasn’t well at the time.
We decided that an internet school would be more flexible and easier, so we chose King’s InterHigh.
How did the approach to learning with King's InterHigh help to improve things?
Everyone is so helpful at King’s InterHigh and the teachers are great. None of my lesson time was lost from disruptive students, which means schooltime is much more efficient and you can learn the same amount in a shorter time.
What features did you find most useful when learning with King's InterHigh?
Lessons are interactive and actually fun. The teachers are super helpful, make the lessons interesting and would always be ready to answer questions. For once I began to enjoy maths, which is surprising…
How does it differ from a normal physical bricks and mortar school?
The ability to go to school anywhere was a real benefit. My and my dad drove by car to Portugal, and although it is a long journey, I enjoyed live lessons on my phone and laptop on the boat and as we were driving.
It always amazes me to think I was travelling in a car in a foreign country and in the same classroom with students from all over the world.
I have no regrets in joining King’s InterHigh and I had an amazing time.
