Thomas Eccles | Air-Freight Co-ordinator
King's InterHigh alumni, Thomas Eccles, studied at King's InterHigh throughout high school before landing a job at an international freight forwarder, Kuehne + Nagel.
I searched for a job for about a month and then managed to land myself one at Kuehne + Nagel in Aberdeen. King's InterHigh played a huge part in that. If it weren’t for travelling to Aberdeen to sit my exams, I may not have moved here.
Air-Freight Co-ordinator
How long were you a student with King's InterHigh?
I studied at King’s InterHigh from year 7 right through until year 11. After my GCSE’s in June, I moved out of my family home in Aviemore, Scotland and moved to Aberdeen at just 16 years of age.
What inspired you to move from your family home?
I wanted to start work. I searched for a job for about a month then managed to land myself one at Kuehne + Nagel, a worldwide known freight forwarder.
What is your position at Kuehne + Nagel?
With no exam results when applying for the job (as it was still only July), I managed to land a role as an Air-Freight Co-ordinator, doing the same job as everyone else and I’m still going strong.
How did King's InterHigh play a part in your new role?
Aged 16, I managed to move out and away from home. King’s InterHigh played a huge part in that because I was not able to sit the exams locally. I had to travel to Aberdeen to sit them. If it weren’t for that, I may not have moved here.
